Susan Schuyler Smith

Since 1978, Susan has been the driving force behind the Spectrum Interior Design team. Her passion and talent for creating beautiful designs has successfully built long-lasting client relationships and garnered numerous awards and distinctions.
Shelly Craft
Director of Design, FL ID #0001809
The patience and perseverance Shelly honed in her youth while nationally showing Quarter Horses has served her well. After earning her Florida Interior Design license in 1990 and joining Spectrum in 1994, Shelly has played an important role in the success of the firm. In her role as Director of Design, she oversees both hospitality and residential projects. With her easygoing nature, depth of knowledge and keen attention to detail, it’s no wonder Shelly’s clientele love working with her and return with additional projects. Shelly enjoys outdoor time with her husband and son, fishing and diving.
Heather Tyler
Design Associate, Allied ASID
Combining degrees in Business Administration and Design Technology with experience in an upscale furnishings boutique, Heather has found her “dream job” as she joins the design staff at Spectrum. Having played golf at Vero Beach High School and Methodist College, Fayetteville, NC, Heather married a local golf professional and they have a 13-year old daughter. Heather loves spending time on our beautiful beaches and gardening.
Debbie Slade
Design Assistant
Born and raised in Vero Beach, Debbie brought her talent and eye for color to our team in 1999. Ever since, she has played an important role assisting designers in fabric and furnishing selections and is a major contributor during the installation phase as our respected stylist. She and her husband love traveling, with Asia on the top of their favorite places to visit—a destination introduced while their son was working abroad.
Danielle Reuter
Director of Operations
With a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education & Health, Danielle has the determination and stamina to successfully oversee daily operations within the Spectrum design team. Since 2012, Danielle has utilized her keen organizational skills to help coordinate the design staff as well as purchases, deliveries and installation. With her husband and two sons, she enjoys outdoor activities and supporting the Vero Beach Rowing Club.
Ella Simon
Administrative Assistant
Since 1997, Ella has been the first contact point in the Spectrum office. With a Ph.D. in Theology and commitment to her church and community, she uses her personal strengths, including professionalism, warmth and flexibility, to handle all inquiries, visitors and clients who enter the office. She loves spending time with her daughter, other family members and a fishing rod.
Susan Colson
Office Administrator
In 1990, Susan took over the accounting and purchasing responsibilities of the firm. Her honesty, trustworthiness and strong work ethic have ensured our long-running financial success. Additionally, she handles all insurance, billing and office-related matters. Married, Susan has two children, two granddaughters and two great granddaughters. Her personal interests include scuba diving, motorcycle riding, boating and fishing.
Brian Lange
Director of Logistics
Brian is responsible for receiving and caring for all products shipped to our warehouse. He also is the brain and muscle behind our installation process, one that he has honed since 2000. His experience and focus on customer satisfaction takes much of the stress out of the installation process. While he believes the Spectrum team is his “family,” he returns home to two children and a loving wife of 24 years. They love the outdoors—camping, fishing and mountain bike riding.
